Laila gets a six pack

The pressure was too much. Almost anybody who has a Khan in his name and is in forties is doing it. We might not have Khan in our names but some of us are in forties ( not me… ).

So we launched the beta version of our service in six more cities.

New city launched – Kolkata and Hyderabad

Folks – We have just launched 2 news cities with tons of data. Kolkata and Hyderabad are the 2 new cities in the block. It is a great milestone to archive, laila is live on 6 cities now.
Both these 2 cities will also have the WAP site and sms search. So laila will give you local information over web and mobile.

You will also find events and movies running near you place in asklaila.

Keep Alive – Bangalore

Few months back we started the keep alive process with laila’s data. Results?  SFSG (So Far So Good).

Well the journey  started few days back, when all of us realized that its important for us to keep laila’s data updated. There are so many new shops/merchants opening up on a weekly basis, some shut down or an address changes. We started with setting up a team and collecting information from various media. We also benchmarked the data quality to the previous data updated. After changing few process we noticed that the data quality has gone higher then the previous benchmark. This gave us enough confidence that we can build this team and they will do a great job. Now the results part, laila has been new data on a weekly basis and this process has been running since couple of months.

On an average we update more then 2k data on a weekly basis. This is a huge number to be updated on a weekly basis and will be a continuous process. I will post some new listing on Laila.

Proximity Search

Ah… we have released the latest version of our Search and last few days were very hectic for Laila’s team. Folks were busy with building proximity based search which we call it as kick-ass feature.  See it yourself how the team was busy developing and testing the kick ass feature -

Hummm.. I thought i should stop talking and discuss about the proximity search. Over all proximity will help you to find listings/information that is near your area. Simple!!! Well you enable proximity search with the check box that’s just below the “which part of Bangalore?”

 Let me give you an  example, say Mr. Tom from the US wants to eat at KFC and stays in Devara Jeevana Halli. (I guess, KFC never thought folks from Devara Jeevana Halli will love to eat at KFC.)

Mr Tom:  How would Laila help?
Laila: Search with proximity enabled. KFC in Devara Jeevana Halli…..
Mr Tom: YuMmy… Laila say’s KFC is found near to Devara Jeevana Halli at –

Cunningham Road
Commercial Street
Vyalikaval

changes to laila….

Today early morning we made some changes to asklaila . Most of the changes are feedback form laila’s users. Some of the changes are ‘Images/proifile of home page are click able’, ‘the sms/email boxes have a cool feature, it will self destroy the sms/email automatically’, ‘users can upload as images of bigger sizes and there is no limit’, also add a new tag to the ‘feedback – lailarocks!!’.

Well now the entire team is busy with incorporating the feedback from the users. watch out!!!
